Oh my—sometimes you just don’t know what you have missed until you get it! I am IN LOVE with my new She Shed (aka “Shedquarters” for my ministry). I have literally been dreaming of this for years but have never had the right place to put one–until now. I found a sweet little spot on our new property with 3.5 acres, here in NW Atlanta.
So, here is how it rolled (literally)
1. I had an inspiration piece. I always do. I am simply not creative enough on my own to create anything without something that inspires me, gives me a path to start on and a vision of what I MIGHT want. I can grow it from there and make it my own.
I searched Pinterest, joined Facebook She Shed groups (there are LOTS of them!) and followed IG posts for months. I honestly could have chosen TONS of inspiration ideas and in fact, what I end up with will be a combination of lots of those ideas.
Here was my final inspiration:
I went to a local SHED/Portable Outdoor buildings dealer called Green Acres here in Atlanta and detailed every part of my dream. They were so patient and helpful. We worked together to get it just right. After about 6 weeks a custom build dream was ready just for me.
She was literally rolled down our driveway on a truck and was carried on a little tractor to her final home. It was so exciting!! My heart was pitter patter the entire day.
It is adorable and exactly what I dreamed of. If I could change any little thing–I would have made it a bit larger but I am happy!
I have had a blast decorating it a bit although I still have a ways to go.
We have started getting the grounds around the shed landscaped a little but wanted the outside to look very natural and fit into the surrounding woods. We have used pine straw to cover the clay ground and even gathered broken branches to create a little fenced area to surround her. My honey build a little stepping platform to keep the mud and dirt down and I have added the ever important front door wreath.
The inside is set up mainly for my ministry, writing and coaching activities. I have ordered a cute little black and white checked recliner for my “prayer” reading and writing chair. It should come next week. I’ll show you more of that on my next post and I promise it will not be 2 months!
I love this little “hospitality” space and have such big ideas IN MY MIND :))) to share here. I know my last post was a while back but the good news is–you see here that my ideas almost always come to life eventually LOL!
I’d love to hear that you are still visiting!
Simple Blessings,
Pat
